Taris olives and olive oil, produced by 28,000 members of 33 co-operatives in Turkey's Aegean region, are well respected and in high demand all around the world. Taris products are being produced and packed in our own state-of-the-art plants that have been a part of International Olive Oil Council’s quality control program since 2002. Taris olive oil is also unique in Turkey by being the only Turkish brand that is accredited by this international authority.
Aegean Region... The Riviera of Olive Trees
The Aegean region which is also called the "Riviera of olive trees" is located on two sides of the Aegean Sea, an arm of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Aegean shores have "the most beautiful skies and the best climate in the world" according to the famous historian Herodotus. This region is known to have the best quality olives in the world. In this region, there are olive trees over a thousand years old. Today, a visitor at the Aegean coast may rest under the shadow of the same olive tree that Homer sat and might hear the wise tree whisper in his ear: "I belong to all and I belong to no one; I was here before you came, and will be here when you leave."
