“According to the legend; having been expelled from Heaven together with Eve, Adam at the age of 930 feels that he would die and decides to ask for forgiveness from God for himself and thus for whole mankind. He sends his son to the Garden of Eden. Upon his prayers, the angel watching the garden gives him the three grains she took from the Tree of Good and Bad and tells him to put them in his father’s mouth when he dies and bury him with the grains in his mouth. Adam dies and is buried in the Hebron Valley near the Tabor Mountain. Three trees sprout from the three grains that leafs out and takes root inside Adam’s mouth which are the symbols of the Mediterranean climate – olive, cedar and cypress.”
